The panelists discuss insights and considerations from their practice of creating and supporting LGBTQ+ centered curricula. This session discusses medical curriculum development focused on LGBTQ+ Healthcare. May 19: LGBTQ+ Health and the Medical Curriculum.Participants are asked to have access to a syllabus they’re interested in “queering.” We will discuss queer praxis in the classroom and explore strategies that facilitate teaching and learning outside of normative structures and honor the strengths and needs of our queer and trans students. This session discussion addresses how these bills, often directed at K-12 students and educators, resonate through, and have consequences for higher education University classrooms. With state legislators filing more than 340 anti-LGBTQ+ state laws for consideration, 150 of which target transgender people, this rapidly changing landscape of anti-LGBTQ+ legislation nationwide has implications for University teaching and learning.
